Privacy Policy

What VideoScript stores, which services receive data, and the choices available to you.

Who is responsible

VideoScript is provided by Salvador Romero (“we”, “us”). This policy describes the VideoScript app and its support website. Contact supportvideoscript@mex.studio with privacy questions or requests.

A VideoScript account with a name or email is not required to use the app. That does not mean every piece of data is anonymous: app-installation and subscription identifiers can distinguish an installation or customer, and support messages may identify you.

Your videos and generated content

VideoScript accesses videos you select or allow through Photos. To process them, the app may create local video copies, extracted audio, thumbnails, transcripts, summaries, categories, source references, processing checkpoints and error/warning records. Preferences and library records are stored on the device. Depending on storage settings, local media copies may also be retained for playback or recovery.

Current iPhone/iPad builds use Apple’s on-device SpeechAnalyzer transcription. Apple language assets may need to download. Older versions or other recognition paths using Apple’s earlier speech API may use Apple servers depending on language and on-device availability; Apple’s permissions and privacy rules apply to those paths. We do not send video audio to Firebase or RevenueCat to transcribe it.

Automatic language detection analyzes a bounded audio sample on-device with the bundled Whisper Tiny model through WhisperKit. It is separate from generating the full transcript. If a version needs missing model assets, it may download them from their model host; that request exposes ordinary network information such as an IP address to the host, not an upload of the audio sample.

Summaries and suggested categories use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models capabilities on eligible devices and languages. The transcript is supplied locally to that model. AI output can contain errors.

Photos may download an original from your iCloud Photos library. Device backups, iCloud Photos and files you explicitly share are governed by your Apple or destination-service settings. This policy does not promise cross-device playback or processing recovery. A future app-library sync release will require a matching disclosure before it is enabled.

Usage and diagnostic information

  • Firebase Analytics: app/installation identifiers, device/app information, feature interactions, selected language/locale, counts, result/status categories and processing/model timing or size measurements. Network and SDK processing may include IP-derived coarse geography; the app does not request precise GPS location.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports and recorded nonfatal errors, stack traces, app/device/OS details and diagnostic identifiers. Error descriptions or associated diagnostic details can contain file paths or resource references; these should not be treated as guaranteed anonymous.
  • Firebase Remote Config: requests for configuration values, such as operational limits and feature settings, with installation and technical information needed to serve those values.

These services help us operate the app, understand which workflows work, diagnose failures and improve performance. The inspected custom analytics events record search activity and result counts rather than the search query itself; transcripts and full video content are not intended as analytics payloads. SDK identifiers and diagnostics can still be personal data under applicable law.

The current app does not provide separate in-app switches for Analytics and Crashlytics. Removing the app stops that installation from running and sending new app events, but does not necessarily erase identifiers, backups or information already held by service providers. Contact us about applicable choices or deletion requests.

Purchases and identifiers

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps validate transactions and maintain subscription entitlements using an App User ID, purchase/transaction information, product identifiers and subscription status. These identifiers are pseudonymous rather than a guarantee of anonymity. They can be associated with a purchase or restoration. We do not receive your full payment-card number through an App Store purchase.

Subscription-related identifiers and provider records may persist independently of the app’s local library. Uninstalling the app, clearing videos or sending a privacy request does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage cancellation through Apple.

Support messages, logs and sharing

If you contact supportvideoscript@mex.studio, we receive the message, email address and anything you choose to provide. The in-app support composer pre-fills the User ID and subscription status and may attach a warning/error log. Logs may include error descriptions, technical details, paths or resource references. You can inspect the email and remove the attachment or details before sending.

Copy, share and export actions place information on the clipboard, in a file, in Photos metadata, or in a destination you select. Other apps or services can then handle that information under their own policies. Check the contents and destination before sharing; exported metadata can include transcript content.

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers for subscription management, configuration, analytics, crash diagnostics, email and website hosting. They receive the categories of information needed for those functions. Information may be processed outside your country, subject to the provider’s applicable processing terms and safeguards. Relevant information includes:

We do not sell or rent your video library. We may disclose information when needed to provide the requested service, comply with applicable legal obligations, or investigate and protect against misuse. This is not a representation that SDK data is always aggregated or cannot identify an installation.

Website visits

Our hosting service can receive access/security-log information such as IP address, requested URL, timestamps, browser/device information and referring page. Email and App Store links open external services. The reviewed website redesign adds no advertising pixel, third-party analytics script or analytics cookie; any future website measurement implementation must be reviewed and disclosed before activation. The hosting provider may separately use necessary security mechanisms.

Retention and deletion

Local library content remains until removed in the app, removed with the app, or otherwise cleared by the operating system. Temporary/recovery files can be retained while work is pending or cleanup must retry. System backups, Keychain/SDK identifiers and copies in Photos, Files or other services may persist independently. Deleting an app entry does not retract a previously exported or shared copy.

Diagnostic, purchase, support and hosting records follow the relevant service settings, operational needs and applicable legal retention requirements. Deletion and backup expiration are not necessarily immediate. We do not promise an exact deletion deadline or a single retention period for all providers. Contact us to ask about information we can identify and control; we may need a User ID or other minimal verification to locate a record. Do not send passwords.

Use Settings → Clear Videos to remove the app library, manage separately exported copies where you saved them, and cancel any subscription separately through Apple. Provider records are not automatically erased by Clear Videos.

Your choices and rights

You can manage Photos and applicable speech permissions in your device’s Settings and choose what to copy, export or include in support messages. Available privacy rights depend on your location and the law that applies; they may include access, correction, deletion, portability, objection or restriction, and withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a relevant supervisory authority.

Send requests to supportvideoscript@mex.studio. We will handle requests within applicable legal requirements and explain any identity-verification or retention limits. This policy does not treat use of the app as a substitute for consent where consent is legally required.

Children

VideoScript is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can assess and handle it under applicable requirements.

Security and policy changes

We use safeguards appropriate to the services involved, but no device, network or storage system is completely secure. Protect your device and Apple Account, and review sensitive content before sharing.

When this policy changes, the published page will identify its effective or updated date. We will provide additional notice or seek consent where required. We do not promise email notification to every app user because the app does not require an email account.
